Statement of Faith

Anchored Family Learning Center is a Christian homeschool community based on the following beliefs:

  1. We believe in one God, the creator of all things, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  2. We believe that salvation comes only through the free gift of God, made evident in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  3. We believe the Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and the final authority for life.

  4.  We believe as Christians; our lives should always reflect the commands to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Anchored Family Learning Center is open to all families upon the acknowledgment that all materials, teachings, and curricula will be taught in accordance with these beliefs.

Statement of Religious Purpose

The board members of Anchored Family Learning Center are followers of Jesus Christ

The board members of Anchored Family Learning Center believe that Jesus Christ requires that all His followers strive to live their lives in a manner that is consistent with the precepts and doctrines of their faith which are grounded solely in the Bible.

The board members, therefore, seek to operate Anchored Family Learning Center in accordance with the principles of their faith and strive to make community decisions, including enrollment and contracting decisions and decisions about community activity according to Biblical principles.

Statement of Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality 

We believe that God wonderfully creates each person as a male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as designed in scripture (Gen 2:18-25) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor 6:18, 7:25, Heb 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, incest, bestiality, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20  1 Cor 6:9-10)

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Anchored Family Learning Center as the local Body of Christ and to provide a Biblical role model to the Anchored Family Learning Center enrolled families and community, it is imperative that all persons contracted by Anchored Family Learning Center in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality (Matthew 5:16  Phil 2:14-16  1 Thess 5:22)

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Act 3:19-21  Rom 10:9-10  1 Cor 6:9-11). We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mk 12:28-31  Lk 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture or the doctrines of Anchored Family Learning Center.
